Product Description

A cutter suction dredger is a continuous-operation dredger. Its core feature is a massive, rotating cutter head mounted underwater at the bow. The rotating cutter breaks up and loosens mud, sand, and rock on the water bottom. Using the vacuum created by the ship's powerful dredge pump, the chopped mixture is sucked up through a suction pipe and transported through a discharge pipe to a designated area several kilometers away.

This equipment functions like a "water vacuum cleaner," but with the suction head replaced by a powerful "meat grinder" that breaks up hard objects before suction.

Working Principle and Operational Process

Positioning and Lowering: The vessel is positioned using anchor cables or steel piles. The cutter bridge is lowered to the water surface.
Crushing and Excavation: The cutter head rotates at high speed, cutting and crushing underwater soil and rock.
Slurry Suction: The dredge pump generates powerful suction to draw the loosened mixture through the suction pipe.
